While I agree that it is more unique, I feel like the last one is a more solid design. What I really like about 2012 is the eyes. They are so vibrant and refreshing color wise. I like the eyes of 2013, but the strength of the blue chosen, and the simplified palette, just don't appeal to me as much. That said, the last one has a much better facial expression. That face gives us so much personality. They might as well give the character a name at this point.
Your fur-rendering abilities have definitely improved and I really like the stronger use of colour in the most recent one. The most recent is definitely the cutest but I like the middle one because it's not as cliche... he looks like his own creature rather than a (gorgeously) cutesy fox-cat-dragon androgynous thing
Oh, yeah. Very much improved. It's things like these how you can really see how far someone grows as an artist. Though, I think this is the first time I've seen someone draw the same picture 3 times instead of just twice. And exactly a year apart too. That's impressive. You must have planned that. The third one is definitely the best of the three. Better anatomy and light and fluffyness, I say. And this doesn't just show technical improvement, but also how your style's developed. If I didn't know better, I wouldn't have guessed the first one was your art. Even between the second and third one, there's obvious, though much more subtle, stylistic development. Very nice. Very interesting to see. And great work.
