Hi, I just wanted to say this has helped me so much to becoming like you ^^ Your student, Jamesfoxbr, is teaching me how to become as epic as you! X3 I can't wait to become this good at art, Thanks again
Hey, so, I may...use this process...you know, just to try it...see how well it works for me...just letting you know...if it's alright with you...because I'm trying to learn...and stuff like that...yeah...
This kind of contribution is greatly appreciated by me , I have a few months using Photoshop and all sorts of tutorials is very welcome, the steps are quite similar to what I use, I see the second step I always ignored, not sure if you use to use the other layers as clipping layer on the same layer, the early work made them this way, to get me wacom I have rejected this as they were a huge waste of time, with time I learned to spare this step, followed by the layer lines is the use of basic colors at the same time is what use to put other layers such as shadows, glows, layer effects in clipping mode. Well, each user works in their own way, is just an idea of how I work. I leave compositions that had a few days to get the idea of what I referring, the advantage I see in my way is that you save a layer that ultimately is not going to see and you are using a single dual layer purpose, color and outer limiting for is going on. Maybe I'm wrong and this layer you use to something that even I do not. My character in Skyrim - Composition W.I.P.[link] Batman and SuperSuit T.D.K.R Part2 (Finalized)[link]
Yesterday more calmly at home I analyzed this tutorial and I was definitely wrong, what caused me confusion was that the step 2 and 3 I make inverted base color first and then the shadow as clipping layer, if you came to see the two previous compositions that I placed on links you may have noticed this, I tried it yesterday to make a basic form for test whether the visual outcome was different, but to be honest the result is completely the same, so both methods are valid. Sorry for my bad performance with your job, it's my fault, I can at least make sure that I learned something new, did not know you could do both, as I told you, I have only been a few months using Photoshop, To be most accurate (four months). Thank you very much for this tutorial, I appreciate this kind of collaboration.
Step 4 minus the sketchiness, plus a little detail and some highlights is probably about average for most of the best digtal artists here on DA. But you are among a very small few who can incorporate as much detail and realism as you have in step six! If your overall style were more realistic, and less cartoony, it would look as real as reality itself!
